I was sitting on the edge of my seat watching The Nativity. The background music was Christmas Christian music.

Every now and then, a hawk would appear. After the hawk, an angel would appear and deliver a message from God. The star of Jesus was actually three stars in one!

It might be too late to watch the Nativity in theaters, but don't worry. It will beout on DVD soon.Nephoshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06293900899142207084noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5413522720359135773.post-84340359861196910842006-12-07T23:04:00.000-05:002006-12-07T23:09:28.638-05:00A Word to Live by: Dependability"The best ability is dependability."

When you are dependable, you are working hard without being watched. George was born in 1861 to a slave family owned by Moses Carver. He lived in Diamond Grove, Missouri. When George was an infant, his father was killed and his mother was stolen. Mr. Carver raised George as his own son.

As a child, he loved to paint and used plants for his supplies. At ten years old, George left home to go to school. Because he loved plants, his art teacher encouraged him to study them at college. He later taught at Tuskegee Institute where he found many uses for the sweet potato and peanut. This helped the South to have healthy crops that they could sell. One of George's greatest discoveries was crop rotation, a method of planting different crops each year in order to have the best soil.

George Carver died in 1943. He had been a loyal, hardworking friend to the South who overcame many hardships to become the man he was.

You can find more information about George Washington Carver and Tuskegee Institute here:

George Washington Carver

Tuskegee University

And here's a really cool site for kids with activity pages about Mr. Carver:

Carver Coloring and Activity BookNephoshttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06293900899142207084noreply@blogger.com5tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5413522720359135773.post-53772737704802664132006-11-03T10:29:00.000-05:002006-11-03T10:46:54.747-05:00NFL Favorite Team Predictions

I enjoy NFL football. George Washington was a great military leader. His house is visited by thousands of people every year.
